Sustainable Curiosities and Novelties: Bottled Water Maker
Fresh ‘n Pure Bottled Water Maker, in the post-Christmas clearance carnage… and the yellow 50%-off clearance sticker signals that this oddball item has been shunned by Santa and will soon be deported to the Island of Misfit Toys.
I spotted this curiosity, theToo bad, because I’m certain that even the most difficult-to-buy-for people on your gift list do not have one of these babies. With this mean-green contraption, you can have your bottled water and drink it too, powered by modern appliance-driven convenience!
I’m a bit confused as to whether the Fresh ‘n Pure is superior to plain reusable containers or the many options already available to filter tap water. I do know this: here in suburbia, we like platoons of high-end appliances with insanely narrow functions. There’s always room for one more on the granite countertops of our spacious sprawl-inspired kitchens, am I right?!
You may be wondering, then, why I didn’t grab this bargain. Actually, I already have a bottled water maker. Mine is a manual chrome model, made by Delta.
Sustainable Curiosities and Novelties: In which we present the oddball, assorted knick-knacks, inventions and ideas for more sustainable Earth occupation by humankind. Or something like that. Submissions welcome, contact the Thirsty in Suburbia “Curator” here.
I must look into this! What is the difference between this and a regular Brita?
I’m curious. Thanks for sharing!
